Will New York turn Red?

Donald Trump at the New York Young Republican Club’s 111th Annual Gala was speaking about the possibility of winning the state of New York in 2024.

“I’m telling you, this is a place that can be won, and we have the team to do it,” Trump.

The last Republican presidential candidate to win New York was Ronald Reagan in 1984.

A poll conducted by the Siena Research Institute, Siena College, New York, was done at the end of October. New York is still a blue state, with 49 percent of the voters registered as Democrats and only 23 percent as Republicans, according to pollster Steven Greenberg.

Yet the results of the recent November election was quite telling. Considering that there are more registered Democrats, Lee Zeldin, the Republican, came within 6 points of being elected governor, that showed phenomenal gains and a positive sign.

It seems that New York may be ready for a change. A majority of those polled, 52 percent of the voters said that New York was headed in the wrong direction!

Immigrants being bussed in the state, which recently made national headlines, is considered a "very serious" problem by 57 percent of voters, up from 54 percent in August.

Also, 64 percent of New Yorkers say they have done enough for the new migrants, and now need to stop the flow. 29 percent say the state should accept them all and help them to assimilate. The link to the Sienna Poll is below.

The November elections showed a red wave on Long Island and gains in the Bronx. GOP leaders said the local wins were proof their House victories are no fluke. “We’re talking about a big movement, and we’re talking about this movement starting in a very blue state,” Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman stated.

Public safety, affordability and the migrant crisis is driving the change in New York. Donald Trump states the Republicans are the party of law and order, the party of the hard working Americans and the party of protecting the quality of our lives.

New Yorkers are not buying Biden’s message that the economy is in good shape. Their wages are not keeping pace with the costs of daily living… groceries, cars, housing, child and elder care. These essential needs are no longer affordable.

Biden’s open border policies of has had a serious and negative impact on the people’s lives. Polls show New York voters are worried about crime and nervous about the flow of migrants crossing the U.S. Mexico border illegally.

America has seen what a Trump Presidency was like, even many New Yorkers see it now also. They may complain about his character but not his policies. When people have uncertainty, fear and can’t make ends meet, it gives them pause. Millions remember what life was like under the Trump Presidency, there was safety, prosperity and peace, the people want it again.
